CHALLENGES
The main objective of the Light Middle East Exhibition 2015 was the UAE’s global plans to provide energy-efficient lighting to public places and streets of the country, and also provide the construction industry with new sources of lighting, due to the fast-growing real estate market.
Orlight intended to meet the demand for modern lighting technologies by demonstrating on specialized exhibition a wide range of its products.
REALIZATION
The installation process of the exhibition stand was quite laborious. Glossy elements required special care and maximum concentration because one mistake, chip or scratch would inevitably lead to a complete defeat both for the customer as well as for us as performers.
Despite the small area of the stand, a large international team worked on its installation – specialists from the Alpaca Expo Group local office and colleagues from Orlight, who arrived from London. The rich experience at international exhibitions and the common goal facilitate work process. Everyone worked and sweat in the literal sense because the air temperature reached +45 degrees. It was decided to carry out installation in two stages. First, before applying the glossy paint, we assembled the structure to make sure that all the joints fit well, and each part is in the right place. After that, we completely disassembled the stand, applied paint and assembled it again.
As the client wished, attention was focused on interior lighting – we mounted hundreds of light bulbs around the perimeter of the exhibition stand, thus it successfully stood out among other exhibitors. It was spectacularly. We could even say that we managed to create the Eiffel Tower, which can be seen from anywhere in Paris (or Burj Khalifa from anywhere in Dubai, if you like).
Preparations for the exhibition were not less serious than the company’s intention to illuminate the whole city. Orlight had been preparing to present a wide range of lighting equipment at the event, which the Alpaca Expo Group designers managed to place on a small area of 36 m2.
A demonstration of the lighting possibilities at the exhibition is possible only in conditions of isolation from other light sources – general lighting of the exhibition hall and lighting of other stands. Therefore, it was decided to develop a stand-box that would harmoniously fit into the composition of the exhibition and at the same time that would present the company’s products in a favorable light.
For maximum effect, we integrated the client’s product into the stand design.
Orlight easily entered the Middle East market and sold products just from the stand, although it did not plan to do it before.
Outside the stand was completely painted in black.
