The exhibition stand design is mostly discussed as its appearance. We are fully support Steve Jobs in his words about design:
“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.”.
In this article we will reveal in more detail the question of the ergonomics of the exhibition stand.
Here are a few rules:
Convenient and clear entrance to the stand.
It doesn’t matter whether it is free access or controlled entry; it is important to leave enough space for the expected number of people, make the entrance to your stand friendly to your customers.
Exposure area. You should give enough space to the area on which the exhibits are located and the area around them. Provide free access for visitors to the possibility of
in-depth study of your product. Do not try to show everything if you have a small space – select the main novelties and focus on them. The rest can be shown in the catalog or via video.
Negotiation area.
You must correctly calculate your needs for negotiations. If you are interested in a massive flow of visitors, then you should not encourage long-term visits to the exhibition stand. And vice versa, if you are interested in a detailed discussion – your exhibition stand should have nice and cozy meeting room.
Utility room.
Do not forget about invisible corners of your stand. The utility room, invisible to the visitor, should be as comfortable and sufficient as possible for staff who spend a full day at the exhibition stand. The stand design should be harmoniously balanced in every centimetre of the exhibition area.
Branding.The
design of the exhibition stand needs to be thought out taking into account the flow of visitors – moving from general to particular. Long-range branding must necessarily be addressed to the main aisles; do not forget about the name of your brand placed at eye level when the visitor is already near you – after passing through other exhibition stands, the visitor must be sure that he has reached the goal.
Deliberately and thoroughly delve into the design of the exhibition stand, do not neglect details and unimportant, at first glance, details. If your visitor feels comfortable at the stand, this will increase the economic efficiency of your participation in the exhibition.
